Dear Hydrozen.io Users,
I want to share an important update regarding the future of Hydrozen.io. Due to a conflict of interest with my current role, I have decided to transition Hydrozen.io from a commercial service to a personal, non-commercial project.
What This Means for You
- The legal entity Hydrozen, LLC will be shutdown and it will become a personal project.
- Hydrozen.io will no longer accept new signups.
- Existing users will need to migrate to an alternative monitoring service by May 31, 2025. (2 Months from this annoucement).
- Hydrozen.io will continue operating as a free service exclusively for open-source projects. If you maintain an open-source project and would like to continue using Hydrozen.io, please reach out to [email protected] .
Next Steps
If you’re currently using Hydrozen.io for uptime monitoring, I recommend transitioning to an alternative service soon. I appreciate your support over the years and want to ensure this transition is as smooth as possible.
For our paid user(s), I have already refunded the latest renewal.
What’s the future of Hydrozen.io?
I’ll continue to experiment with it for learning purposes and offer it as free solution for open source projects, beyond that, I honestly have no idea.
I’ll also do some cost optimizations by moving out of AWS to a reliable low cost hosting provider and will offer only 1 ping location. Will keep everyone posted as I figure things along.
Thank You
Hydrozen.io has been an incredible journey, and Iām grateful to have built a service that so many of you relied on. While it will no longer be a commercial offering, I look forward to supporting the open-source community in a meaningful way for the time being.
If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to contact me.
